Meet Suman Dabas, a detail-oriented people person with an entrepreneurial streak. Suman is ready to use her love of houses and real estate to help you sell your home or find the home of your dreams.
Suman and her husband, Bhupender Dabas, moved to Camp Hill from India for his job as a computer science engineer. He had always wanted his own IT company, so together, they founded XpertVantage – a human capital solution provider that’s now one of the fastest-growing companies in central Pennsylvania. Suman is the owner and president, while Bhupender is CEO. The company works with clients all over the U.S. and in Canada and India.
Keeping track of business dealings, regulations, and taxes across all those states and countries requires someone who can handle details, and that’s what Suman does well.
XpertVantage led, indirectly, to Suman’s adventure as a real estate agent. She and her husband decided to diversify, so they started another business to buy and rent properties. It was a scary time to be launching businesses, as their daughter was preparing for college, but the risks paid off.
“Obviously, this was not the right time, but we wanted to do it and we did it,” she says now, laughing at the memory. “I think that was the best day of my life. But at that point of time, I didn’t think it was the best day. I thought it was the worst thing. But I am so glad now, and I am so lucky. We did great. That’s the best thing.”
While buying and renting properties, Suman and Bhupender also moved around the area, looking for a dream home of their own. The first time Suman bought a house, she thought, “I like this process.” With her family’s business ventures securely settled, Suman saw an opportunity. Her daughter, Ashna, was grown and on her own. Her son, Arjun, was in 10th grade.
So, with the encouragement of RSR agents who had helped Suman buy and renovate homes, she studied for her real estate license. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed administration of the licensing exam, but when she finally took it and passed, she was ready to work.
Suman enjoys travel with her family. She has learned to join her husband in hiking local trails – “not the tough ones. The easy ones.”
