AGENT PROFILE
As a university special events manager, Charity Castner “did everything from cocktail parties to golf outings to galas to art openings and dinner parties.”
And as wardrobe manager for Philadelphia-area theaters, she worked into the evenings, keeping actors in costume and ready for their next scenes.
When she switched careers and became an RSR agent, Charity found that all her skills translated to real estate because she’s still in a field where “everything is always changing.” ""It's like a live event,” she says. “You have to remember to stay calm. You try to fix it as best you can. And smile, always smile."
With a young daughter and son, Charity changed directions because she wanted a rewarding career that she could balance with family. With the support of her husband, Adam, and guidance from her father-in-law, RSR Realtors partner Jan Castner, she made the leap.
Charity joined RSR in November 2013. She felt she fit right in at the RSR office, where “everyone’s really nice and always there to help.”
Moving from Philadelphia to Mechanicsburg with her family marked a return home to Central Pennsylvania for Charity, a graduate of Central Dauphin High School. She holds a degree in theater arts from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She enjoys sewing, reading, and cooking.
As a yoga teacher at a Mechanicsburg studio, Charity practices other skills that help her guide home buyers and seller to successful transactions.
“Go with the flow,” she says. “Take a deep breath. Relax. Everything will work out. We’ll get through it.”
Real estate suits Charity’s outgoing nature and her desire to help others. She keeps clients apprised of the process and the status of their property, to “make them feel a part of every step along the way.”
“From personal experience, I feel that you want to keep your clients involved,” she says. “You want that personal connection, the sense that they’re taking care of you. Finding that personal touch can make a world of difference, whether it’s for planning an event or finding a home.”
